NCDMB targets faster compliance processing for oil firms with digital system

By Firdaus Jibril

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is aiming for faster processing of compliance certificates for oil and gas companies through a new digital platform designed to slash turnaround times from weeks to days.

The Board stated that the system will enable companies to apply for compliance certification online, eliminating the need for physical visits and allowing operators to track application progress in real time.

The new system, which incorporates the Nigerian Content Fund Compliance Certificate (NCFCC) module and an upgraded Nigerian Content Development Fund (NCDF) payment portal, is designed to enhance data verification and streamline administrative workflows.

According to the NCDMB, the digital platform was developed to eliminate bottlenecks in the legacy certification process and enhance service delivery for upstream, midstream, and downstream operators.

The Board announced the initiative during a stakeholders’ engagement session in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where it demonstrated the new digital portal to industry operators.

The agency noted that more than $400 million has been disbursed to over 130 indigenous oil and gas companies through the Nigerian Content Fund to date.

The digitization of its processes is expected to broaden access to intervention funds and regulatory services while reinforcing operational capacity across the domestic energy value chain.

The initiative forms part of the Board’s broader drive to leverage digital technology to enhance Nigerian content administration and eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks for compliant firms.
