NCDC felicitates IBB at 85, celebrates contributions to national development

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr Cyril Tsenyil, has felicitated former Head of State, Retired Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi-Babangida, on his 85th birthday.

Tsenyil, in a statement issued by Dr Makut Simon-Macham, Head of Media and Corporate Communications of the commission, on Monday in Lafia, extended the felicitations on behalf of the Governing Board and Management of the NCDC.

He described Babangida as an elder statesman and distinguished national leader whose contributions to Nigeria’s development, unity and progress remained significant.

According to him, the former Head of State demonstrated commitment to national development and provided leadership anchored on the ideals of national unity, peace, development and inclusion.

Tsenyil said the commission was particularly proud that Babangida was a distinguished son of the North Central region, adding that his years of service and leadership had contributed to shaping Nigeria’s political and socio-economic development.

He expressed appreciation to the former Head of State for opening his arms to the NCDC and demonstrating commitment to supporting the commission in fulfilling its mandate of driving sustainable development across the North Central region.

The NCDC chief executive said that Babangida’s willingness to offer valuable counsel, wisdom and support was a great encouragement to the commission as it continued to establish strong foundations for effective regional development.

He added that the experience and statesmanship of the former Head of State remained invaluable to the North Central region and Nigeria at large.

Tsenyil said that the NCDC looked forward to benefiting from Babangida’s wise counsel and continued support in its efforts to transform the region and contribute to national development.

He prayed God to continue to grant Babangida good health, wisdom and strength, and bless him with many more years of peace, fulfilment and service to the nation.
