The Lagos State Police Command has declared two men wanted over alleged involvement in a same-sex relationship.
An invitation letter dated 13th May, 2022, signed by CSP James Daramola of Ketu Division, said a complaint was received from community chiefs on 3rd April, 2022, accusing Mr Toyin Adejumo and Mr Hassan Taiwo Bakare of being in sexual relationships with other males.
The act contravenes the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act 2014 and Section 214 of the Nigerian Criminal Code.
Police said they had made several efforts to reach both men but were unsuccessful.
They were invited to appear at the Investigations Department, Ketu Division, on 16th May, 2022.
The police said the men have not shown up and are believed to be evading arrest.
ASP Adamu Muhammed has been assigned to investigate the case.
Police urged anyone who knows the two men, or anyone who issued them a fine, to help notify them to report to the station.
