President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated Chief (Mrs.) Victoria Olaitan Abiodun, the mother of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, describing her as a “matriarch of virtue, faith, and uncommon resilience.”
In a congratulatory message personally signed by the President, Tinubu extolled the nonagenarian’s life of courage, faith, and service, noting that her journey remains an enduring example of perseverance and devotion to humanity.
The statement reads: “On behalf of the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I warmly felicitate with you on the joyous occasion of your 90th birthday anniversary.
“Your life story is one of grace, courage, and service, a shining testament to the power of determination and faith. Born on October 15, 1935, into the distinguished Agbonmagbe Ruling House of Iperu, you charted your own course through the pursuit of education, defying societal expectations and proving that with focus and hard work, excellence is attainable.
“As an educator and mentor, you served with dedication across the South-West and beyond, nurturing generations of Nigerians who today occupy positions of influence and responsibility in diverse sectors. Your devotion to your late husband, Dr. E. A. Abiodun, your abiding faith in God, and your compassion toward all who crossed your path have left an indelible legacy of love, humility, and integrity.
“As the revered mother of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor of Ogun State, your virtues are reflected in the leadership, discipline, and commitment to service that he continues to demonstrate. Indeed, your life’s example continues to inspire not only your family but also many within and beyond Ogun State.”
President Tinubu described Mrs. Abiodun as a woman whose impact transcends her family, crediting her with shaping generations through education and moral guidance.
He noted that her 90th birthday represents not only a personal celebration but also a recognition of a life that has inspired excellence, humility, and public service across the nation.
Tinubu added that Nigeria celebrates the matriarch for her unwavering commitment to education and nation-building, praying that God grants her continued peace, joy, and strength.
