The Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, has issued a strong warning to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, urging them to refrain from any acts of insubordination against the party’s leadership.
Matawalle made the remarks on Sunday while receiving APC executives from Anka, Bakura, Maradun, and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas at his residence in Maradun, where they paid him a Sallah homage.
Speaking to party stakeholders, the Minister emphasised the need for unity and discipline within the party ranks, especially in the face of growing internal tensions.
“I am using this medium to call on you to continue to support the party. We should avoid any acts of insubordination to the leadership of our great party,” Matawalle stated.
“We should ignore any call to destroy the unity of our great party in the state,” he added.
The former governor expressed appreciation for the continued efforts of APC leaders in the state, singling out former Governor, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, for commendation.
“As I always say, myself, Abdul’aziz Yari and other APC leaders in the state, we have been trying our best to improve the welfare of our members and good people of the state,” he said.
He urged members to remain patient and supportive, assuring them that more benefits were forthcoming.
“More job opportunities are coming for the benefits of the state,” Matawalle promised.
He further encouraged the people of Zamfara to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that the President is committed to the development of the North-West region.
“I want to inform people of the state that President Tinubu has good intentions to develop Zamfara and the entire North-West,” he said.
Matawalle expressed gratitude to the President for ongoing infrastructure projects, particularly the Zaria-Gusau-Sokoto dual carriageway.
“We are very grateful to Mr President for the ongoing Zaria-Gusau-Sokoto dual carriageway,” he noted, adding that other projects, including the Mayanchi-Guru and Gusau-Isah-Sabon Birni highways, were also in the pipeline.
The Minister concluded by reaffirming the Federal Government’s plan to bring further development to Zamfara through strategic infrastructure and welfare programmes.
