LG Poll: Ikeja youths buy nomination form for Omisore
A youth group ,Ikeja Progressive Youths (IPY), has purchased an APC chairmanship nomination form for a leading aspirant Mr Abisola Omisore, to support his candidacy ahead of the July 12 local government election.
News Men reports that hundreds of youths were present during the presentation of the form to Omisore in Ikeja.
Presenting the form , Mr Gbenga Bolaji, the coordinator of the group, said members purchased the form owing to their firm belief in the capacity of the aspirant to lead the council.
Bolaji said the endorsement of the aspirant was also in appreciation of his philanthropic gestures and humanitarian interventions in the community.
“As vibrant youths of this great community, we stand united in our belief that leadership is not just about power, but about service, vision, and genuine commitment to the people.
“It is with great pride and unwavering confidence that we, the Ikeja Progressive Youths, present the APC nomination form of N5 million to Hon. Abisola Omisore, a man who embodies these values.
” We purchased this form because we believe in his leadership, his track record of humanitarian service, and his unwavering dedication to our community,” he said.
Bolaji added that the group settled to support Omisore among other aspirants after a thorough study of his plans and vision for Ikeja.
The coordinator saud Omisore had consistently demonstrated deep commitment to youth empowerment.welfare support for the vulnerable and community service.
“His vision for Ikeja focuses on sustainable development, infrastructure improvement and economic growth.
“We have examined his plans and we have seen that they align with our aspirations for a better, more prosperous local government,” he said.
NAN reports a chairmanship aspirant, Mr Tayo Aderinola,announced his withdrawal from the race, during the event in support of Omisore.
Speaking ,Aderinola said he stepped down following consultation with his supporters.
He said his support for Omisore was borne out of the belief that he would take the local government to the next level.
“I am delighted to declare my support for a chairmanship aspirant who possesses the requisite qualification and shares my vision for sustainable development and t well-being of the people of Ikeja,” he said.
He described Omisore as the most exceptional of all the chairmanship aspirants, saying he had no doubt he would meet the aspirations of residents, if elected.
Speaking ,Omisore , expressed his appreciation to the youths for purchasing the form.
“This is not just a form; it is a symbol of your belief in my vision, your trust in my capacity, and your commitment to the progress of Ikeja. I do not take this for granted.
“Your support goes beyond politics; it is a testament to the power of collective ambition and the shared desire for a better Ikeja. You have shown that when the youth unite with purpose, great things happen.
“Today, you have not just endorsed a candidate; you have ignited a movement for transformative leadership,” he said.
Omisore said that if given the mandate, his administration would prioritise youth empowerment , job creation and infrastructure development.
He also promised to improve security, create a better environment for businesses and commerce and run an inclusive government.
