The Lagos State Pension Commission has officially commenced its bi-annual verification exercise for retirees enrolled under the Defined Benefit Scheme across key public service sectors.
The month-long exercise, which begins today, Monday, October 26, and concludes on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, is targeted at retired heads of service and permanent secretaries, alongside pensioners under the Teaching Service Commission and the Civil Service Pension Office.
The routine verification aims to ensure records remain accurate and confirm the continued eligibility of beneficiaries on the state’s payroll.
In a move to ensure convenience and eliminate the stress of physical travel, the commission emphasized that the verification will be conducted strictly online.
Retirees are explicitly directed not to visit the commission’s physical offices, as in-person processing will not be accommodated during this period.
Pensioners affected by the announcement are urged to access the designated online portals and complete their documentation promptly before the November 25 deadline to maintain uninterrupted pension disbursements.
