Lagos to empower women entrepreneurs with digital, financial growth strategies

In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, the Lagos State Government has announced a major initiative to equip women entrepreneurs with essential digital and financial strategies for business growth.

The event, themed “Empowering Women, Elevating Businesses: Digital & Financial Strategies for Growth,” is set to take place on March 13, 2025, at the Women Development Centre (WDC), Agege, Lagos.

It will feature industry experts, financial specialists, and business strategists who will provide participants with practical tools to navigate the evolving business landscape.

According to Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Hauwa Adeeyo the initiative aligns with the IWD 2025 global theme, “Inspire Inclusion.”

She emphasized that the administration is committed to strengthening female-led MSMEs and ensuring financial inclusion for women entrepreneurs.

Participants will engage in hands-on workshops on e-commerce, financial literacy, and smart money management, while also gaining access to funding, mentorship, and cooperative business opportunities.

The initiative is expected to benefit over 200 women entrepreneurs across Lagos, reinforcing the state’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment.
