The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has urged more survivors to come forward with information as investigations continue into a disturbing case involving an e hailing driver accused of sexually assaulting multiple female passengers.
The suspect, identified as Adedayo Adegbola, was arrested after several women took to social media to share harrowing experiences, linking him to cases of rape, assault, and armed robbery.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the DSVA confirmed it is working hand in hand with the Lagos State Police Command to strengthen the investigation and ensure justice is served.
“We are calling on other victims or survivors who may have been assaulted by the suspect to please come forward,” the agency said.
“All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality, and survivors will receive the support they need.”
The suspect’s arrest was carried out by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, following an order by the Commissioner of Police, Olohudare Jimoh. Police also recovered a red Toyota Corolla (JJJ 226 HT), believed to have been used during the attacks.
Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi described the arrest as the outcome of a discreet operation, adding that investigators are still working to identify possible accomplices.
Commending the police, the DSVA noted that the swift response reflects the state’s renewed commitment to protecting women and holding offenders accountable.
The agency encouraged anyone with useful information to reach out through official channels, emphasizing that coming forward can help prevent further harm and bring closure to victims already affected.
