The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the party’s performance in the recently concluded by-elections across Rivers, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a decisive referendum on the presidency of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued on February 22, 2026, by the Lagos APC Spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the party maintained that the electoral outcomes represent an unmistakable endorsement of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his ongoing transformative policies.

According to the party, the resounding victories recorded by APC candidates demonstrate that the electorate remains confident in the administration’s bold economic reforms, infrastructural expansion, and institutional strengthening despite efforts by opposition elements to misrepresent the country’s direction.

The statement suggested that the results serve as a final straw for an opposition it characterized as uninspiring and unworthy of serious consideration, noting that voters have now delivered a firm democratic verdict in favor of the ruling party.

A significant portion of the APC’s communique focused on the perceived disconnect between online political activism and actual electoral results.

The party asserted that the events surrounding these polls prove that social media dominance as a vehicle for political change may be significantly overrated.

It argued that the amplified noise and virtual trends generated by the opposition across digital platforms failed to translate into real public acceptance or electoral penetration when it mattered most at the ballot box.

The Lagos APC further remarked that the momentum gained from these by-elections provides a clear preview of the 2027 national elections, suggesting that the upcoming general polls may be a walk in the park for the ruling party based on its current performance.

It attributed this projected success to trust earned through courageous reforms and decisive leadership rather than online theatrics or manufactured outrage.

While expressing gratitude to party faithful and grassroots volunteers for their dedication, the APC also extended commendations to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its conduct of the polls.

The party specifically praised security agencies for their professionalism and vigilance, which ensured that citizens were able to exercise their civic responsibilities in a safe and secure environment across the affected constituencies.

In its concluding remarks, the Lagos APC reaffirmed its unwavering support for President Tinubu and called on all Nigerians, including members of the opposition, to set aside rhetoric and join the collective effort of nation-building.

The party viewed the by-election victories not merely as political wins but as a renewed mandate to deepen democracy and deliver tangible dividends to all citizens as the administration moves toward the latter half of its term.
