The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) has called on the Kwara Youth Technical Working Committee (KWATEC) and other stakeholders to intensify collaborative efforts aimed at empowering young people across the state.
This call was made by the General Manager of KWASSIP, Dr. Abdulwasiu Tejidini, during a courtesy visit by KWATEC to his office in Ilorin.
Dr. Tejidini reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to partnering with youth-focused bodies like KWATEC, stressing that the state government continues to invest significantly in youth development initiatives that prepare young people to compete favourably within and outside Nigeria.
“Our youths must be good ambassadors of Kwara State. We encourage KWATEC to develop innovative ideas and initiatives that will improve youth capacity. Publicise your work so people will recognise the value you’re adding,” Tejidini said.
Earlier, the Chairman of KWATEC, Engr. Abdulkareem Abdulkareem, expressed appreciation for KWASSIP’s support and stated that the visit was to seek areas of collaboration with the agency to deepen youth development efforts in the state.
“KWASSIP, as an agency responsible for social investment across Kwara, is our first point of call due to its relevance and proven impact on the state’s vibrant youth population,” Abdulkareem said.
He added that the planned collaboration will focus on technical education, grassroots empowerment, entrepreneurship, skill acquisition, and promoting economic inclusion for young people in all parts of Kwara.
Abdulkareem also revealed that the partnership will align with existing Federal Government-backed social investment initiatives implemented at the state level.
He commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration for placing premium attention on technical education and youth empowerment, describing it as a bold step toward reducing unemployment and securing a sustainable future for the state.
