Kwara PDP presents certificates of return to 24 assembly candidates

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has presented Certificates of Return and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to its candidates for the 2027 general elections, marking the completion of the party’s primary election process in the state.

The presentation ceremony, held on Friday at the party’s state secretariat in Ilorin, saw 24 House of Assembly candidates receive their Certificates of Return and statutory INEC nomination documents after emerging victorious in the party’s primaries across the state’s constituencies.

According to a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, the exercise followed an earlier event at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, where the party’s governorship candidate, Bolakale Kawu, alongside three senatorial candidates and six House of Representatives candidates, received their Certificates of Return and INEC Forms EC9 and EC13A.

Speaking during the event, the state chairman of the party, Isa Bawa, congratulated the candidates on their emergence and urged them to remain united as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.

Bawa described their victories in the primaries as a collective mandate to serve the people and charged them to demonstrate humility, commitment and dedication in their campaigns. He also called on the candidates to strengthen the party’s structures at the grassroots level and work closely with stakeholders across their constituencies to improve the PDP’s electoral prospects.

The chairman further commended former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, for his continued leadership and support for the party in the state.

Responding on behalf of the candidates, the beneficiaries praised the party leadership for conducting transparent and peaceful primaries. They pledged to work with party members and supporters to secure victory for the PDP in the 2027 general elections while promoting unity across the state’s 16 local government areas.
