Kwara Gov't reiterates commitment to sustainable building standards

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to enforcing standard building practices and providing necessary guidance to the public to safeguard lives and property across the state.
The State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, gave the assurance in Ilorin while receiving a delegation from Mainstream Energy Solution Limited Staff School, Jebba, Moro Local Government Area, who were on an educational excursion to state government construction projects.
Ogunsola noted that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has repositioned the Ministry to offer critical services that keep citizens informed on approved construction practices, ensuring alignment with the state’s housing policy.
The Commissioner emphasised that the Ministry is mandated to ensure strict compliance with housing regulations by both public and private developers to reduce building-related accidents to the barest minimum.
He pledged that the state government would continue to provide the visionary leadership required to drive physical transformation, positioning Kwara for international recognition and enhanced economic engagement.
Earlier in her remarks, the Principal of Mainstream Energy Solution Limited Staff School, Mrs. Jamila Wudil, commended Governor AbdulRazaq and the Ministry’s management for the visible infrastructural transformation across the state.
Wudil explained that the excursion was designed to give science students the opportunity to interact physically with construction experts, thereby deepening their practical understanding of the sector.
She expressed gratitude to the state government for granting the school access to inspect the building sites, assuring that the knowledge gathered would be of immense benefit to the students’ academic development.
