Kano water producers, agency partner to improve sachet water quality

The Pure Water Producers and Vendors Association (PWPVA) has pledged to collaborate with the Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) to improve the quality of drinking water by adhering to health and safety standards in water packaging.
The Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Ahmad Bala-Hudu, stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the council on Monday in Kano.
Bala-Hudu said the visit aimed to introduce the association to the council and to seek guidance on improving operations and promoting good practices in the industry to safeguard public health.
According to him, the council plays a critical role in protecting the interests of consumers of essential products, including sachet water producers.
He stressed the association’s commitment to supporting the council by complying with all regulations and guidelines designed to ensure quality standards.
The Executive Chairman of KSCPC, Dr Ibrahim Garba-Muhammad, commended the association for the visit, while describing the collaboration as vital to consumer protection.
Garba-Muhammad urged the association to continue sensitising its members on the need to adhere strictly to health and safety standards in the production and packaging of sachet water.
He revealed that complying with regulatory requirements was essential to ensuring the safety and well-being of consumers.
The executive chairman further explained that the council would not compromise standards in protecting consumer rights, supporting businesses, and enforcing relevant regulations.
He also assured the readiness of the council to taking measures to address challenges facing water producers and ensure the production of safe, high-quality drinking water.
