Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has declared that victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming August 16 bye-elections is not negotiable but a necessity for the party’s continued dominance in the state.
Speaking during the inauguration of the APC Campaign Committee for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Basawa, and Sabon Gari State Assembly bye-elections, Sani—represented by Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe called on stakeholders to prioritise unity, strategy, and commitment in the lead-up to the polls.
He urged party loyalists to shelve personal interests and rally around the collective objective of securing a clean sweep, emphasising that the party’s vision and the welfare of the people must come first.
“The party must come first, and the people we seek to represent must be prioritised,” he said, while charging the campaign committee to promote the APC’s record of achievements and inclusive governance.
Deputy Governor Balarabe praised Sani’s leadership, noting his commitment to fairness, equity, and development across all regions of the state. She said his governance style had strengthened the APC’s appeal among residents and should be a focal point of the campaign.
“We must remind voters of the value of political alignment and the real impact of development they’ve witnessed under APC leadership,” she said.
Other party leaders at the event echoed the call for loyalty and discipline, urging members to view the elections as a critical test of the party’s unity and grassroots connection.
State APC Chairman, retired Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, noted that members of the campaign committee were chosen based on merit and performance, and assured them of the party’s full backing.
In his remarks, the campaign committee chairman and Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, vowed that the team would work tirelessly to ensure a resounding victory for the APC across all contested seats.
