A group of Original Stakeholders from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has petitioned the Nigeria Police Service Commission (NPSC), calling for a police investigation into former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The group, which calls itself Concerned African Democratic Congress (ADC) Original Stakeholders of the party Kaduna State chapter accuses El-Rufai of causing a recent crisis and violent eruption within the party.
The petition, signed by group leader Comrade Musa Abdullahi, was dated September 9, 2025, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
It alleges that El-Rufai’s attempt to hijack ADC from the original members using violence as a tool led to the crisis that prompted his invitation by the Kaduna State police command.
The petition describes El-Rufai’s conduct as an act of shame and dishonour for a former minister and governor.
The stakeholders expressed their displeasure with El-Rufai’s own petition against the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, where the former governor alleged unprofessional conduct and abuse of office by the police.
The group’s statement claims that they would not have responded to El-Rufai’s dubious, false and misleading allegation if he hadn’t singled out the police commissioner and his officers.
The stakeholders assert that the police officers acted professionally and without bias.
The petition also claims that El-Rufai, along with others who were invited for questioning, including Bashir Saidu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed, Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Husseini, are gangs of thugs.
The group argues that El-Rufai’s petition against the police is an attempt to obstruct and frustrate the investigation, as he has allegedly done in the past to evade investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The ADC stakeholders further stated that El-Rufai, having lost relevance with his former party, APC, attempted to gate crash into the ADC, but was chased out.
The petition emphasizes that El-Rufai is not a registered or financial member of the party and that his actions are a onne-man show and destabilizing agenda.
The group vows to resist any attempt to hijack the party and will defend its integrity and constitution.
