The Jigawa government has urged people to embrace the Citizens’ Engagement Forum and voice their views on its programmes to fastrtrack sustainable social and economic development of the state.
Mr Sagir Musa, the Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, said this during an engagement exercise on Monday in Guri, headquarters of Guri Local Government Area of the state.
News Men reports that Gov. Umar Namadi administration has initiated the forum to encourage inclusive governance, to ensure successful implementation of its programmes.
The exercise, billed to be held across the 27 local government areas of the state, would end in October.
Musa advised residents of the state to avail themselves opportunities of the engagement exercise, to voice their concerns on government’s policies and programmes.
He said the forum was designed to bring the government closer to the people and provide platform for feedback.
The commissioner said the initiative also availed the government opportunites to carry people along to ensure successful implementation of its policies and programmes.
Also, Sen. Abdulhamid Malam Madori (APC – Jigawa South-East), commended Namadi over the execution of viable infrastructure and people oriented projects in the state.
He noted that Namadi’s outstanding performances deserved him to be re-elected for the second term.
The senator urged politicians to rally behind the governor and support his re-election bid rather than contesting against him.
“The present governor is doing well in his first tenure so no need for anyone to think of challenging him in 2027 election,
“Governor Namadi deserved to serve his second term comes 2027 because of his outstanding performances,” Malam Madori said.
The senator promised to ensure effective representation to provide dividends of democracy to the constituents.
