A new women-focused non-governmental organisation, the Emerald Rose Women Foundation, has been formally launched in Ondo State.

The Foundation has a mandate to empower young women and expand their opportunities for growth and self-actualisation.

The foundation, unveiled on 28 November 2025, is positioned to address the social, economic and psychological barriers that hinder young women from reaching their full potential.

Its programmes are centred on skill acquisition, leadership development, emotional support, advocacy and confidence-building.

According to the organisers, the foundation seeks to equip young women with practical skills and knowledge, offer hope to the vulnerable, amplify the voices of the voiceless, eradicate stigma, and inspire girls to dream big and pursue their goals without fear or limitations.

A major highlight of the event was the public presentation of a new book authored by the founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ms Iwagun Temitope Faith, titled “Reputable Woman and Her Lifestyle: A Woman’s Guide to Discovering Her Worth and Achieving Success.”

The publication underscores her drive to help young women discover their value and navigate their path to success.

Speaking at the launch, Ms Iwagun noted that the foundation was born out of a deep desire to build a generation of empowered, confident and purpose-driven women who can contribute meaningfully to society.

Stakeholders at the event described the foundation as a timely intervention and a welcome addition to ongoing efforts to promote gender equality in Nigeria.

They expressed optimism that the Emerald Rose Women Foundation would have far-reaching impact across Ondo State and beyond, strengthening national initiatives geared towards the advancement and protection of women and girls.
