Investors gain N25.37bn as market closes positively

Investors on the Nigerian Exchange gained N25.37bn as the market closed positively on Thursday.

The Nigerian equities market closed gaining 46.18 basis points with a flat market breadth.

Meanwhile, the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) now stands at 38.18 percent as it grew by 0.07 percent compared to the previous day’s gain of 0.23 percent, which closed at 70,773.31 basis points.

The NGX Market CAP also recorded a gain of N25.37bn in Naira terms.

The total volume traded advanced by 1.94 percent to close at N569.19 million, valued at N16.79 billion and traded in 6,169 deals. JAPAULGOLD was the most traded stock by volume with N113.96 million, while STANBIC  was the most traded stock by value with N6.78 billion units traded.

The Gote Index declined by 0.10 percent to close at 189.06, while the Toni index advanced by 0.09 percent to close at 361.26 basis points.

At the close of trading, the market recorded 26 gainers, 26 losers, and 67 unchanged. UPDC topped the gainers list, while VFDGROUP topped the list of losers.

JAPAULGOLD  had the highest volume contribution with 20.02 percent, while STANBIC and UBA followed closely behind.

According to the value chart, STANBIC is at the top with a 40.37 percent contribution. AIRTELAFRI and UBA follow closely behind.
