INKterlude 3.0 Set to spotlight the future of Nigerian poetry, creativity in Ibadan

The third edition of INKterlude, a flagship literary and creative showcase by INKspiredng, is set to hold on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the National Museum of Unity, Ibadan. Tagged INKterlude 3.0, this year’s event will explore the theme, “The Future of Poetry.”

The golden city of Ibadan once again takes centre stage as INKterlude 3.0 unites poets, writers, artists, and culture enthusiasts for a celebration of poetry, networking, and conversations aimed at the next chapter of Nigeria's literary and creative scene. 

Speaking on the significance of this year’s edition, Jide Badmus of INKspiredng described the event as “a gathering to ask crucial questions about where our art is heading.” He added, “The future of poetry is not a distant dream; it is unfolding before our eyes through our voices and the ways we tell our stories. If you thought past editions made a statement, this one will write a full chapter.”

The programme will feature spoken-word and performance poetry sessions, interactive discussions, music, comedy, and games. Guest panellists include Aremo Gemini and Funminiyi Akinnrinade, who will lead conversations around the sustainability of poetry and the creative economy in Nigeria.

Organisers say INKterlude 3.0 aims to build on the success of previous editions by providing a space for both established and emerging voices to share insights and connect with the wider artistic community.

The choice of venue, the National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, is also symbolic. The museum, known for its role in preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage, will serve as a fitting backdrop for an event centred on the evolution of contemporary Nigerian storytelling.

Founded to nurture and promote local creative talent, INKspiredng has continued to provide platforms for artistic expression through its INKterlude series, publications and book readings. The group says this year’s edition will reaffirm its mission to strengthen community bonds within Nigeria’s literary and creative landscape.

This year’s event is supported by The Anthology, a collective of writers, readers, and literary advocates committed to promoting the growth of literature in Nigeria and across Africa. Their mission is to make reading more accessible and to foster meaningful encounters with Nigerian literature. They believe visibility fuels readership, hence their support of literature in public spaces through events, exhibitions, and collaborations, where stories can be discovered, shared, and celebrated by all.
