Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on Nigerians to ensure that democracy is sustained in the country.

Farmer Governor Umaru Bago stated this when he received the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, who came to commiserate with him over the abduction of school children in Papiri,Agwara Local Government Area of the State

He said Nigerians must be patriotic and love one another irrespective of religion and culture for democracy to thrive in the country.

The farmer governor, who thanked the Minister for the visit, appreciated the collaborative efforts between the federal and the state governments in rescuing the abducted school children of St. Mary’s Catholic School.

He reassured that, by strengthening such collaborations, including all critical stakeholders, the remaining abducted school children will also be rescued in no distant future.

The farmer governor appreciated the minister for his support at all times and promised that he would continue to work closely with him for accelerated development of Niger State under his New Niger agenda.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, while commiserating with the governor and people of Niger State over the abduction of the school children, said President Tinubu is working to ensure speedy recovery of the remaining school children and their teachers in captivity.

He described what happened as a call for deep and sober reflection, pointing out that the issue of security should be a collective responsibility.

The Minister disclosed that the President is working with sub-nationals and international organisations to ensure that challenges of insecurity across some parts of the country are tackled.

While acknowledging the efforts of the farmer governor for his commitment to the overall well-being of the people of the state, the Minister called on all Nigerlites to continue to support him to ensure he succeeds.
