The Coalition Of FCT PDP Support Groups has held a Sensitization summit ahead of the INEC voters registration.

The Sensitization summit which was held in the City Centre ward of AMAC was to sensitize party faithful and eligible voters on the importance of getting themselves registered as voters.

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) had earlier announced that the commencement of voters’ registration for those that were unable to register during the last exercise will commence on June 28,2021 which is in preparation for the 2022 Abuja Area Council’s election and 2023 general election.

Making his remarks during the summit, the Chairman of the Coalition, Hon. Idris Abuljalal(Aljeezera) admonished residents of the area to register when the exercise commences, saying they have right to vote in the FCT.

According to the chairman, the voters’ registration is not about APC or PDP but for the sake of saving the country from drifting, stressing that the insecurity challenges in the country does not identify which party one belongs.

He stated that with “Permanent Voters Card you can vote for any government you think can protect your lives and properties.” He went further to reveal the coalition is partnering with Community leaders, NGOs and stakeholders to sensitize the people.

The Chairman who berated the APC said they have no candidate in the AMAC area council and boasted that the victory of PDP in the area is in sight.

Also, the representative of the AMAC Chairman of the party urged participants to take the message to the grassroots and get themselves registered.

“We must sensitize our people in the INEC voters registration.” he said.

Hon. Stephen Oche, who is the Public Relation Officer of the party in AMAC revealed that the massive registration by party members will give the party edge in the upcoming Area Council Election, and encouraged the people to make themselves available for the exercise.

The Councillorship candidate of the party in the city centre ward who attended the summit as a guest of honour, Hon. Tony Onoja, saluted party members for the success of the party during the primary Election and for their support to the party. He opined that voter’s card qualifies one to make change in leadership and advised the people to take the exercise very seriously.
