The Ife East Local Government has proposed a total budget of N7.09 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with a strong focus on economic renewal, personnel costs and capital development.

The Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Safiriyu Akiwale Akinwole, presented the 2026 draft budget estimate to the Legislative Council on December 23, 2025, describing the proposal as the “Renewed Hope Budget.”

According to the proposal, the council expects total revenue of N7,095,924,648, comprising N6.01 billion from statutory allocation and N1.09 billion from internally generated revenue.

On the expenditure side, recurrent spending is projected at N4.62 billion, with personnel costs accounting for ₦3.16 billion of the total.

Other recurrent expenditure includes N41.72 million for debt servicing and N1.42 billion for non-debt obligations.
The proposed capital expenditure for 2026 stands at N2.47 billion, representing investments in projects aimed at stimulating local economic growth and improving service delivery across the council area.

Akinwole expressed optimism that the budget would help revive the local economy of Ife East and improve the welfare of residents, while assuring the Legislative Council of effective and efficient budget implementation.

The budget proposal has been submitted to the council’s lawmakers for consideration and approval ahead of the 2026 financial year.
