I governed Osun for eight years without owning a house – Aregbesola

The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Engr. Rauf Aregbesola has claimed that he is the first governor in Nigeria’s history to govern a state for eight years without owning a personal house.

Aregbesola, who is a former governor of Osun State and former Minister of Interior, made the claim while speaking to his supporters in a video that surfaced online.

The former governor said he lived in a friend’s house throughout his eight-year tenure in office.

“I’m the first governor in Nigeria to rule a state for eight years without owning a house of my own,” he said.

Aregbesola added, “I stayed in my friend’s house for eight years as a governor in my father’s land. Whoever says that what I’m saying is not true should come out and show me the house I own.”

Aregbesola was governor of Osun State between 2010 and 2018, after which he was appointed Minister of Interior by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
