I am ready to serve - Force New Media Officer pledges

By Ismail Azeez
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Aliyu Giwa has expressed his unwavering readiness to serve following his appointment as the Force New Media Officer for the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement seen by NewsDirect on his Facebolk page, Giwa described the appointment as a deeply significant milestone in his career.
He emphasized that while positions do not define an individual, character and a steadfast dedication to service remain paramount.
He extended his gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for the confidence reposed in him, noting that he holds the responsibility in the highest regard.
“I have walked this path long enough to know that appointments do not make men; character does. But I will not pretend that this moment does not mean everything to me,” Giwa stated.
Reflecting on his journey, the CSP noted that the diverse experiences and challenges encountered throughout his various postings have prepared him for this strategic role.
“Every posting, every challenge, and every season that tested my resolve was sharpening me for such a time as this. I stand here today not in arrogance, but in the quiet, unshakeable confidence of a man who knows where he has come from and is clear about where he is going,” he remarked.
Giwa pledged to justify the IGP’s decision through consistent hard work and transparency, asserting that Nigeria deserves nothing less than his absolute best.
He also took a moment to acknowledge his support system, thanking his family, colleagues, and well-wishers for their prayers and encouragement.
“To the Inspector-General of Police… you have placed something sacred in my hands, and I receive it with both [hands]. I do not take lightly what you have done,” he concluded.
