The lives of two brothers, Mr. Osifo Osasenaga Best and Mr. Osayomore Osifo, hang in the balance following a harrowing abduction attempt on October 13, 2025, by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen.

The attack occurred near their residence at No. 3 Agbomoba Community along Sapele Road in Benin City, Edo State, while the siblings were driving.

Although they narrowly escaped, the encounter left Mr. Osayomore Osifo in critical condition at an undisclosed medical facility.

The attempted kidnapping was successfully thwarted by the community’s local vigilante group, whose swift intervention forced the assailants to retreat into the surrounding area.

Despite this narrow escape, the perpetrators reportedly returned to the family’s home days later to deliver a chilling handwritten ultimatum, “Keep running, anywhere we see you, we will kill you.”

This explicit death threat has sent shockwaves through the Agbomoba Community, compelling the two brothers to abandon their residence and seek safety in hiding.

The persistent nature of the threat has raised significant concerns regarding the ability of the attackers to operate with impunity in the vicinity.

The Nigeria Police Force has officially launched an investigation into the matter and is currently working to track down the suspects.

Meanwhile, terrified residents of Agbomoba Community are appealing to the state government and security agencies for increased patrols along Sapele Road to restore public confidence and prevent further violence in the region.
