Guinness Nigeria PLC is set to deepen its export footprint through a strategic partnership with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), as both organisations move to strengthen Nigeria’s non-oil export capacity.

The Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria, Girisa Sharma, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEPC, Nonye Ayeni, to explore areas of collaboration aimed at expanding the company’s export potential.

Discussions during the meeting focused on leveraging NEPC’s export development programmes to support Guinness Nigeria‘s entry into new international markets, while enhancing the competitiveness of its products.

Ayeni emphasised the Council’s commitment to driving Nigeria’s non-oil export growth, noting that partnerships with leading manufacturers are critical to achieving the country’s export diversification goals under initiatives such as the “Double Your Export” campaign.

She highlighted the importance of value addition, quality standards, and market intelligence in positioning Nigerian products competitively in global markets.

Sharma, on his part, reiterated Guinness Nigeria’s readiness to align with national export strategies, stating that the company is committed to scaling its operations beyond domestic consumption and contributing to foreign exchange earnings.

Industry analysts say the collaboration reflects a broader shift among Nigerian manufacturers toward export-led growth, as companies seek to hedge against domestic economic pressures and tap into regional and global demand.

The partnership is expected to open new opportunities for product expansion, capacity development, and increased participation of Nigerian brands in international trade.
