GTR West Africa 2025: Stanbic IBTC Bank drives regional trade innovation

Stanbic IBTC Bank has said it has successfully concluded its strategic participation in the 2025 GTR West Africa conference, reinforcing its role as a leader in trade finance solutions and digital innovation across the region. 

The event, held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos on April 24-25, 2025, attracted over 400 delegates from more than 200 companies, discussing critical opportunities and challenges in Nigerian and regional trade.

As a key sponsor of the event, Stanbic IBTC Bank showcased its comprehensive suite of trade finance services designed to assist businesses in navigating global trade dynamics while capitalising on emerging opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The Head of Transaction Banking at Stanbic IBTC Bank, Jesuseun Fatoyinbo highlighted the pivotal role digital transformation now plays in maintaining market access and competitiveness.

“We are dedicated to bridging the digital divide through our advanced trade platforms, eliminating friction points, and enabling businesses of all sizes to engage effectively in global and regional trade,” said Fatoyinbo.

At the conference, Stanbic IBTC’s delegation contributed significantly to high-profile panel discussions. 

Also the Head of Sales for Transaction Banking, Ojinika Shote offered insights on operational efficiency during the “Stripping out cost” panel, focusing on innovative ways to reduce trade finance expenses. 

Meanwhile, the Manager of Trade Products, Adewale Adekoya provided valuable expertise during the “$1 trillion food economy” discussion, addressing financial solutions for agricultural trade and food security challenges.
