A political support group, the JAGABAN-JANDOR 2027 movement, has launched a stakeholders’ funding initiative to support the governorship ambition of Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran ahead of the 2027 elections in Lagos State.

The initiative, unveiled at Liberty Place in Ikeja, is aimed at raising funds to procure the nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress for Adediran, popularly known as Jandor.

Speaking at the event, the movement’s Central Coordinator, Funke Ijayekunle, described the effort as a people-driven initiative powered by grassroots participation.

She said the decision followed the release of the party’s election timetable and nomination costs, noting that supporters, particularly young Lagosians, have begun contributing between ₦2,000 and ₦10,000 and above to support the aspiration.

“This initiative is deliberate and symbolic,” she said, adding that the funding drive reflects active investment by supporters rather than passive political backing.

The group also announced the activation of a 2,690-member campaign structure across 245 wards and 20 local government areas in the state to strengthen grassroots mobilisation.

Beyond the governorship race, the movement pledged to support the re-election bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, describing its structure as functional and focused on delivering electoral outcomes.

Observers say the grassroots funding model represents a shift from traditional political financing, with contributors seen as stakeholders in the process.

While some view it as a step toward inclusive participation, others are watching closely for its impact on internal dynamics within the APC.

The movement, however, reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability as preparations intensify ahead of the party’s primary elections.
