Governors under the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) have removed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma from his position as Chairman of the Forum.
The removal was finalized during an emergency meeting held in Abuja, shortly after the submission of President Bola Tinubu’s presidential nomination forms on Thursday.
The gathering included governors from across the federation, notably those from Borno, Ogun, Bayelsa, and Enugu, alongside 16 other colleagues.
This latest development marks the second major internal setback for Governor Uzodimma within the party structure in recent months.
It follows his previous removal as the APC National Convention Chairman, signaling a potential shift in the power dynamics among the ruling party’s executive governors.
The PGF is however yet to issue a formal communiqué detailing the specific administrative grounds for the change, though sources within the meeting point toward a desire for fresh leadership and greater inclusivity within the forum.
