Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajiya Hauwa’u (Cikin-Gida), the stepmother of Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, the member representing Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the Governor described the passing of the nonagenarian as a painful loss to the Majigiri family and the wider Katsina community.
The statement reads partly: “She lived a long and fulfilled life marked by faith, compassion, and service to others. Her prayers, counsel, and motherly role will be greatly missed.
“Hajiya Hauwa’u’s life was defined by devotion to Allah, family care, patience, simplicity and strong moral character, values that will continue to resonate among those she nurtured.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri and the entire Majigiri family at this difficult time.
“We stand with the family in grief and pray that Almighty Allah grants her Aljannat Firdaus and gives the bereaved the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
Governor Radda noted that the late matriarch, who died at the age of 95, lived a life devoted to faith, family and the wellbeing of others, earning respect and affection within her community.
He added that her passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill, particularly for those who benefited from her wisdom, motherly guidance and prayers.
