Governor Bago seeks humanitarian partnerships with Qatar, Saudi Arabia

The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, held strategic meetings in Abuja on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, aimed at strengthening international partnerships to drive development and humanitarian progress in the state.

During a visit to the Abuja office of the Qatar Charity Organization, Governor Bago engaged with officials to explore collaborative opportunities in key areas such as water, healthcare, education, food security, and housing.

The Governor emphasized that his administration is fully committed to leveraging such partnerships to improve the well-being of Niger State residents and combat poverty through structured, sustainable support systems.

Following this engagement, Governor Bago visited the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, where he met with the new Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi.

The Governor used the visit to formally congratulate the Ambassador on his appointment and reaffirmed the Niger State government’s dedication to maintaining the long-standing, cordial relationship between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Governor Bago praised the Saudi government for its consistent support of Niger State, particularly regarding pilgrims, and expressed his desire to deepen ties in ways that foster further growth and development for the state’s citizens.
