Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle and senior staff posting in the state civil service.

In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance accountability, efficiency, and service delivery across key ministries.

According to the directive, the Attorney General and Honourable Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Haruna Isa Dederi, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Transport, while the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Barr. Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, has been moved to the Ministry of Environment to serve as Permanent Secretary.

The Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, who has been acting at the Ministry of Transport, will return to his substantive role in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

Governor Yusuf directed that all officials affected by the reassignments formally hand over their offices to the most senior official in the ministry.

The handover and takeover exercise is to be completed immediately, effective Tuesday, September 23, 2025, before the close of business.

The Governor emphasised that the redeployment is intended to maximise capacity, align responsibilities, and ensure effective delivery of government programmes to the people of Kano State.

He also urged officials to cooperate fully with the newly redeployed Commissioners in discharging their responsibilities.
