Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State has lauded the effective role of House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas in facilitating Federal Government viable projects in the state.
Sani made the commendation at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a youth development centre in Maigana, Soba Local Government Area.
Sani said Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development in Kaduna with support from Abbas justify massive support for them in the 2027 election by citizens of Kaduna.
He said the interventions demonstrated the importance of collaboration between the Federal Government, elected representatives and the Kaduna State Government.
Sani specifically highlighted the reconstruction of the approximately 80-kilometre Zaria-Soba-Pambegua Road and the construction of Kinkinba Road under the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) as some of the projects.
According to him, the projects will improve connectivity, ease the movement of people and goods, stimulate economic activities and enhance residents’ quality of life.
He noted that the Zaria-Soba-Pambegua Road was particularly important to farmers, traders and other road users who depended on the route for their livelihoods.
The governor urged the relevant agencies and contractors to ensure quality construction and strict compliance with project specifications and timelines.
Sani said Kaduna would continue working with the Federal Government and its representatives to attract more development projects to the state.
He described Abbas’s position as Speaker of the House of Representatives as an advantage that had helped Kaduna attract important federal interventions.
The governor also expressed confidence in Abbas’s return for a second term, urging residents to appreciate Tinubu’s support for the state.
Earlier, Abbas said the projects being executed in Soba formed part of an integrated development plan designed to strengthen agriculture, education, healthcare and youth empowerment.
He said the initiatives included the Zaria-Pambegua Road, a community road in Magama, a youth development centre, a National Open University study centre and a block of 10 classrooms.
Abbas added that a completed primary healthcare centre in Turawa was also being commissioned as part of the development programme.
He described Soba as a major agricultural community, adding that improved roads would connect farms to markets, strengthen commercial activities and improve access to schools and healthcare facilities.
Abbas commended Sani for promoting inclusive development, saying rural communities remained central to Kaduna State’s development agenda.
He also praised Tinubu for supporting infrastructure, education, healthcare and agricultural transformation, adding that public investments must deliver measurable benefits.
The speaker urged residents to monitor project execution, demand quality and protect completed facilities to ensure their sustainability.
