The All Progressives Congress (APC) has gained a significant political foothold in Gombe State as Hon. Inuwa Garba, the member representing Yamaltu-Deba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Garba marked his transition on Thursday by presenting his new APC membership card, obtained from his ward in Lubo, to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at the Government House.

The lawmaker attributed his exit from the opposition to the purposeful leadership of Governor Yahaya and the national impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Garba stated that the APC currently offers the most stable and development-oriented platform for delivering inclusive governance to his constituents.

He pledged his total commitment to the party’s leadership and its mission to foster sustainable growth in Gombe State.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, recently appointed as the APC’s Renewed Hope Ambassador and Secretary for Party Outreach, described the defection as a major political victory.

He noted that the move validates his administration’s focus on infrastructure renewal and human capital development.

This high-profile switch is expected to further consolidate the APC’s dominance in the Northeast region as the party intensifies its engagement and mobilization efforts ahead of future electoral cycles.
