Former Nigerian Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has extended his condolences to the people of Mokwa and the entire Niger State over the recent flood disaster that affected Mokwa Local Government Area.

General Babangida offered his sympathies while receiving a delegation from the Niger State Government, led by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, during a Sallah homage at hi Uphill Residence in Minna.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, Babangida noted that it was an act of God and urged residents to continue praying for the souls of those who lost their lives.

He also commended Governor Umaru Bago’s administration for its developmental efforts and called for their sustenance. The former president pledged his continued support to the state government.

Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba stated that the visit was to seek the elder statesman’s blessings and fatherly advice.

He acknowledged that the former leader was deeply concerned about the recent tragedy in Mokwa and thanked him for his ongoing guidance and concern.

Garba described General Babangida as a pillar of hope for the nation and assured him that the state government remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Niger State.
