Gas Turbines Project Ushers In New Era of Uninterrupted Electricity Supply In Yenagoa

Bayelsa State is entering the era of steady supply of power with the gradual evacuation of power from the state-owned 60 megawatts Gas Turbines.

It is indeed a gradual process as residents of Yenagoa across different streets testify to steady electricity supply in their areas. Those yet to be connected, be patient, power will soon get to you.

Today, many business owners, and several homes are truly feeling a sigh of relief in terms of cost of providing alternative power sources before now. Yes, shop owners are flourishing, a clear reduction in cost of production.

The assurance is strong that the entire state capital will soon be covered as the Bayelsa State Electricity Company has intensify work to clear faults on existing distribution networks.

Again, there is a cheering news. The Bayelsa State Electricity Regulatory Agency (BYERA) has commenced the rollout and distribution of free prepaid meters to households in Yenagoa and its environs to eliminate estimated billing. This measure is to ensure transparent power billing system in Bayelsa State.

The Director-General, Dr. RosaLyn Dressman, made it clear that both the meters and their installation are entirely free of charge.
