The Ganye constituency by-election for Adamawa House of Assembly was conducted peacefully as the sorting and counting is ongoing at the various polling units across 10 wards of Ganye Local Government Area.

News Men recall that the seat was vacant after the demise of Abdulmalik Musa under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in May 2024 as the deputy minority whip.

News Men report that the election was contested between Misa Jauro of APC and Mr Buba Mohammed Joda of PDP.

The election proper began at 8:30 am and the sorting of the ballots papers began at 2:30 pm.

Adamu Babaji and Apolos Maman, the APC and PDP party agents respectively at Ganye 001 polling units confirmed that the exercise was peaceful and there were no challenges.

Mr Attahiru Shehu, PDP Chairman in Adamawa, also commended voters for conducting themselves peacefully.

He expressed confidence that the party would win the election.

He called on the electorate to remain peaceful till the end of the election.

Alhaji Uba Dan-Arewa, APC stalwart, also expressed confidence in the election as the late member was an APC member and Ganye people were party supporters.

He said that some people were not happy with the way the party was progressing in the area.

News Men report that there was a large turnout of voters at most of the polling units like the 001 Ministry of Works, Ganye 005, 003, and 009 among others.

The security operatives were also present at all the polling units of major roads as some have started moving to the coalition center.
