The Management of Galaxy Backbone (GBB), led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, has briefed the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Engr. Nadungu Gagare, on the agency’s strategic roadmap.
The briefing, which took place on Friday in Abuja, served as a formal introduction to the agency’s operations and a platform to discuss strengthening the synergy between GBB and its supervising ministry.
During the presentation, Prof. Adeyanju highlighted the agency’s recent achievements and ongoing initiatives designed to accelerate the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.
He emphasized the critical need for deeper collaboration with the Ministry to effectively bridge the digital divide and enhance public service delivery through technology.
The Managing Director also disclosed that Galaxy Backbone is set to mark two decades of operation this year.
He informed the Permanent Secretary and the Ministry’s Directors that the agency plans to engage the Ministry extensively on the scheduled celebrations for its 20th anniversary, a milestone that underscores its evolution as the digital infrastructure provider for the nation.
In his response, Engr. Gagare commended the management of Galaxy Backbone for its sustained contributions to the Ministry’s objectives.
He acknowledged the pivotal role the agency plays in driving the nation’s digital economy and expressed his commitment to supporting its mandate.
To further familiarize the new Permanent Secretary with the agency’s technical capacity, Prof. Adeyanju extended an invitation to Engr. Gagare to tour GBB’s critical infrastructure at his earliest convenience.
The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to advance Nigeria’s digital transformation through robust partnership and shared goals.
