Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday announced the immediate dissolution of his entire cabinet and relieved all affected public officers of their appointments.

The Governor explicitly stated that the decision was in direct compliance with a recent Supreme Court judgment that upturned the state’s political structure.

Governor Fubara made the announcement during a valedictory session held with his cabinet at Government House, Port Harcourt, coinciding with Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary celebration.

While thanking the commissioners for their contributions to the state’s development over the past two years, the Governor assured citizens that his administration would press forward with renewed vigor in delivering services to the Rivers people.

Governor Fubara used the occasion to call for unity among all Nigerians, urging citizens to support President Bola Tinubu’s efforts toward building “a peaceful, secure, and prosperous country.”

He wished Nigerians a happy Independence anniversary and reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare of Rivers people.
