Food security: APC chieftain hails Tinubu’s agricultural reforms

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Dotun Babayemi, says the various agricultural reforms put in place by President Bola Tinubu have benefitted farmers in the state.

Babayemi, one of the APC aspirants for the Aug. 8, 2026 governorship election in the state, said this during his ward-to-ward tour of Ile-Ife on Thursday.

According to him, responses from farmers, especially cocoa farmers, show that they are making huge profits due to the president’s agricultural reforms.

The aspirant said cocoa farmers in the state had testified to financial gains since the assumption of office by the president.

He, however, called on both the state and local governments to assist farmers with good roads to complement the efforts of the Federal Government.

On the forthcoming governorship election in the state, Babayemi said that 12 aspirants had shown interest under the platform of APC.

The aspirant, however, urged party members to support whoever emerged as the flag bearer of APC in the election.

“I am here on behalf of the 12 aspirants of the APC because we are one. Our intention is to ensure that our party wins the 2026 governorship election in Osun.

“Our leaders will decide on who to represent the party, and all of us will support whoever they pick.

“Whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer will translate the advantages of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the people of Osun at the grassroots,” he said
