Arc. Namadi Sambo, who served as Vice President of Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, has reportedly defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sources indicate that Sambo’s transition to the APC was quietly finalized through the party’s Kaduna State chapter.

The defection was publicly confirmed on Wednesday by APC member Imran Muhammad, who shared the development on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

While the former Vice President has yet to release an official statement regarding his change of political allegiance, political analysts are closely observing the implications of this move.

Observers suggest that Sambo’s defection could significantly reshape political dynamics within Kaduna State and prompt questions about potential realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
