The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has joined the global community in commemorating the 2026 International Women’s Day, using the occasion to pay tribute to the resilience, tenacity, and achievements of Nigerian women and girls.

In an official message released on Sunday, March 8, the First Lady reflected on this year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” emphasizing that the empowerment of women is a strategic national imperative rather than an act of benevolence.

Senator Tinubu noted that the advancement of women serves as a foundational investment in the country’s collective future.

She argued that providing women with equal access to quality education, healthcare, leadership platforms, and economic empowerment is the surest path toward building stronger families and more prosperous, inclusive communities.

Closing her message with a rallying cry for national development, the First Lady asserted that the progress of the nation is intrinsically linked to the status of its female population, declaring that when women rise, Nigeria rises.
