A fire outbreak on Friday ravaged sections of the historic Jama’a Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jama’a Local Government Area.

The incident sparked widespread anxiety among residents and palace officials as emergency teams scrambled to save the landmark.

The blaze was first spotted in one wing of the palace earlier in the day.

Witnessing thick plumes of smoke rising from the premises, neighbors raised the alarm, drawing crowds from across the community.

Officials from the Kaduna State Fire Service arrived promptly to battle the flames, working to prevent the fire from jumping to adjacent buildings within the palace complex.

Security operatives cordoned off the area to ensure responders could work without obstruction, while local volunteers assisted with crowd management.

While the fire was brought under control, the cause of the inferno remains unknown.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the specific origin of the fire and the total monetary or historical value of the property destroyed.

Investigation into the incident is expected to commence once the site is fully cooled and secured.
