The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s defence and security architecture through innovation, collaboration, and strategic partnerships.

The Honourable Minister of Interior made this known during a high-level meeting with organisers of AFRIDEX 2026 led by Major General Umar Alkali.

The Minister emphasized the importance of breaking institutional silos and promoting collaboration among security stakeholders while supporting local innovation, particularly among young Nigerians.

He also pledged the Ministry’s support in areas including security coordination and visa facilitation for participants of the event.

AFRIDEX 2026, scheduled for October 26–29 at Eko Atlantic City, Lagos, is expected to attract over 30,000 participants and 500 exhibitors, positioning Nigeria as a growing hub for defence innovation and security solutions.
