Femi Oyetola marks birthday with poultry training, empowerment programmes

A three-day humanitarian and empowerment programme has been unveiled to commemorate the birthday of youth advocate and humanitarian Femi Oyetola, with activities aimed at empowering graduates, supporting widows, and promoting community development across the Osun Central Senatorial District.
The initiative, sponsored by the Friends of Femi Oyetola in collaboration with the ILERIOLUWA Development Initiative, is scheduled to hold from July 1 to July 3, 2026.
According to a statement signed by Kehinde Ayantunji on behalf of the Friends of Femi Oyetola, the programme is designed to promote self-reliance, improve the welfare of vulnerable groups, and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development in the district.
The activities will begin on Wednesday, July 1, with capacity-building and poultry empowerment training for 100 graduates drawn from the Osun Central Senatorial District.
Participants will undergo practical training in modern poultry farming, agribusiness management, and entrepreneurship to equip them with the skills needed for economic independence.
On Thursday, July 2, no fewer than 500 elderly widows from across the senatorial district will receive financial assistance and other empowerment support as part of efforts to alleviate economic hardship and improve their living conditions.
The programme will conclude on Friday, July 3, with a graduation ceremony for the poultry trainees. Beneficiaries will be presented with certificates of participation and start-up grants to enable them to establish and expand their poultry businesses.
Ayantunji said the celebration was conceived not merely as a birthday event, but as an opportunity to render meaningful service to society through humanitarian intervention and economic empowerment.
He added that the programme reflects the commitment of Femi Oyetola and his associates to youth development, poverty reduction, social welfare, and inclusive community advancement.
