Fathers play vital role in nation-building, says Lagos LG boss

Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mr Jubril Emilagba, has felicitated fathers on the occasion of Father’s Day, commending their sacrifices, dedication, and contributions to family and national development.
The report states that Father’s Day in Nigeria is celebrated on the third Sunday of June, matching the global observance.
Emilagba, in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday in Lagos, described fathers as pillars of the family whose commitment and resilience help shape responsible children and stable communities.
He said fathers play a critical role in providing for their families, guiding their children, and serving as sources of strength and inspiration.
According to him, the love, sacrifices, and unwavering support of fathers remain the foundation upon which strong homes and thriving communities are built.
The council chairman noted that, as a father and public servant, he understands the enormous responsibility associated with nurturing and protecting families.
He therefore commended fathers across Lagos Mainland and beyond for their invaluable contributions to family development and nation-building.
“Today, I celebrate every father who wakes up each day with a sense of responsibility, striving to provide for his family, guide his children, and serve as a source of strength and inspiration.
“Your commitment, resilience, and unwavering support are the foundation upon which strong homes and thriving communities are built,” he said.
Emilagba prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, good health, and peace for all fathers.
He urged them to remain steadfast in their responsibilities and continue to inspire their families toward a brighter future.
The chairman wished fathers a memorable Father’s Day celebration and thanked them for their selfless service to their families and society.
