EmoSIM, Nigeria’s first outbound travel eSIM, has rolled out a world-class solution that gives Africans seamless access to mobile networks across more than 190 countries at affordable rates.
Developed in partnership with Tata Communications, a global leader in digital infrastructure, EmoSIM Travel eSIM is designed to meet the needs of modern Nigerian travelers—whether for business, study, leisure, or diaspora engagement.
Speaking at a recent Digital Innovations media briefing in Lagos, EmoSIM Chairman and Founder, Jimmy Eboma, described the product as a game-changer. “EmoSIM was created for travelers who need seamless connectivity anywhere in the world. Our mission is simple: one eSIM for every travel. Our vision is to make global communication seamless, affordable, and swift,” he said.
Eboma explained that EmoSIM rests on three pillars: ease, convenience, and affordability. According to him, activation takes only minutes, requiring no paperwork. “The solution is as easy as scanning a QR code before travelling, which instantly activates the eSIM,” he added.
On security, Eboma stressed that EmoSIM ensures user protection. “Virtual SIMs cannot be transferred unless both the device and email are compromised. Activation codes are sent only to the user’s email, and eSIM profiles can be deactivated and restored seamlessly in cases of phone theft. With EmoSIM, your identity remains secure, unlike with plastic SIMs, which anyone can use if stolen,” he noted.
The company also has plans to extend its services beyond outbound eSIMs into MVNO operations, aiming to digitise connectivity and reshape mobile communication for Africans both at home and abroad.
Within just three months of its launch, EmoSIM has expanded its physical presence across the SADC region, including South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique, Eswatini, Lesotho, Angola, Malawi, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Chief Operations Officer, Aditya Kholsa, emphasised the economic impact of the service. “All charges are settled in local currency to avoid dollar conversion restrictions and help strengthen domestic economies. Our flexible plans are tailored for travelers, business professionals, tech-savvy creatives, students, leisure seekers, and migrants,” he said.
EmoSIM is Nigeria’s first outbound travel eSIM, designed to transform how travelers experience global connectivity. The platform offers voice calls, SMS, and data plans across 190 countries and more than 600 connections eliminating the hassle of physical SIM cards, airport queues, local network frustrations, and costly roaming charges.
Born from the need to simplify international communication, EmoSIM represents more than a product it is a movement towards borderless living, offering freedom, mobility, and global access for a new generation.
