The Ekiti State Government has launched a full investigation into an allegation of kidney removal at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti.

The move follows a claim by Mr. Afolayan Adebayo, who alleged that his kidneys were removed during a medical procedure at the facility. The report has since generated public concern and widespread reactions.

In a statement addressing the development, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, confirmed that the government is aware of the allegation and is treating the matter with utmost seriousness. He assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the facts.

Dr. Filani also appealed for calm, urging residents to allow due process to take its course while the government works to ensure accountability and uphold the integrity of the state’s healthcare system.
