The Ekiti Endorsement Committee for the re-election of Gov Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti has constituted Local Organising Committees (LOCs) in all the 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Endorsement Committee, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun.
Olatunbosun said the LOC was part of efforts to ensure proper planning and management of the unified state-wide validation of Oyebanji’s endorsement.
According to him, the primary responsibility of the LOC is to manage the forthcoming endorsement event from the grassroots level.
“This is towards ensuring a peaceful and orderly programme that cannot be hijacked to disrupt the prevailing peace in the state.
“The governor has received widespread commendation for his focus on inclusive governance, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and fiscal discipline.
“There has been consistent outpouring of support from pensioners to artisans, labour unions, traditional institutions, youth and women groups.
“Virtually all the entire stakeholders are, in fact, already united in support of a second term that promises continuity, stability, and accelerated growth,” he said.
According to him, the LOCs comprise of respected community leaders, youth representatives, women stakeholders, party loyalists, and civil society influencers.
Olatunbosun said the committees were tasked with coordinating local engagement, policy sensitization, and inclusive mobilization ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
The PRO listed the LOC chairmen for each Local Government to include: Prof. Habibat Adubiaro for Ado-Ekiti; Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun (Irepodun/Ifelodun); and Mr Ojo Atibioke (Ijero).
Others as Mr Bode-Adeoye Johnson(Ekiti West); Mr Karounwi Oladapo (Efon); Mr Odunayo Ayeni (Ikole); Kemi Olaleye (Oye); and Mr Olabode Folorunsho (Ilejemeje).
“Also, Felicia Ibiloye is for Moba; Gbenga Agbeyo for Ido/Osi; Kehinde Ajobiewe for Ekiti East; Mr Femi Awe for Gbonyin; Kehinde Boluwade for Emure; Mr Kayode Fasae for Ise/Orun.
“We also have Niyi Dolamu for Ikere, and Mr Apolola Richard for Ekiti South West LG’s, while all the councillors in each LG are members of the committee,” he said.
